Shared Pool Shakeup!
Chromaria recently introduced new cards and mechanics to Galaxy that have made a big impact on the game, and give new ways to interact with shared-pool cards too. We’re following it up with updates to Galaxy’s shared pool that have this new world of paint in mind.
Shared Pool Updates
New Cards!
We’re adding brand-new cards to the shared pool, including Galaxy’s first new Secret Rare characters since Candylar last year!
Many Fae excel at buffing other characters, but Mustardseed shines brightest when you buff her too!
Draconic Decorator is a powerful top-end for both treasure and paint strategies. Combine them for explosive results!
When one Secret Rare isn’t enough, the Master Artisan is happy to sculpt a few more for you. However, masterworks take time to create!
Leaving Cards
We’re taking a break from a handful of cards in this shakeup. Some don’t fit well in a Chromaria-painted Galaxy, while others are making room for the shared-pool additions. It’s time to say goodbye to:
- Achilles
- Dragonling
- Ember
- Nameless One
- White Whale
Returning Cards
Goodbye is not always forever in this Galaxy. Several cards are returning from a shared-pool exile, and most are improved or have new tricks entirely!
Swapping one common Dragon for another, Dragon Pup (formerly Baby Dragon) has slightly better stats without the consistent early Quest from Dragonling.
Billy Bones is back, bearing a brand-new ability. This paint-friendly Hunt is a powerful payoff at Uncommon, with higher stats than the similar deck-only Shanty (though without her Fae synergies).
Punching Bag and Spoiled Prince are stronger than ever, giving options in your Toy box against other paint-powered tribes.
The great and powerful Wizard returns! Mages received new tools in Chromaria as well, so prepare your wands for spell-slinging fun!
We are eager for everyone to play with these updates alongside Chromaria’s new cards. We’ll continue to monitor the set's impact on Galaxy, but will hold off on further balance updates in this patch. Many players are still experiencing Chromaria for the first time, and we’ll see how things play out in the set’s first Monthly this weekend.
Polish and Bug Fixes
With a set release behind us, we’re refocusing energy on bug-fixing and other improvements.
New Settings UI
We overhauled our settings menu from its beta-version roots, continuing the aesthetic polish seen in our deckbuilder update. This may seem like a trivial change, but those settings are full of interactive elements that can be used for other parts of the game (existing and new) – please take a look and give us your feedback!
Post-Chromaria Cleanup
Several bugs survived through the set’s release, and these fixes bring back the intended experience.
- Canvas of Truth only appears in Paint decks
- Paintbrush spells appear in the Collection screen
- Opponents’ painted slots appear in async games
- Fixed some cases where Paintbrushes weren't added to the spell pool (ex. Paint co-captains)
Quality-of-Life Fixes
- Fixed some game results being rejected and receiving no rewards
- Fixed the 'Starter Deck Really Long Name' bug
Miscellaneous Card Fixes
- Gentle Giant’s ability now works if a character transformed into Gentle Giant during battle
- Lucky Leprechaun now works with spells that golden characters
- Doubled Mami Watas now give bonus shops
- Doubled Mount Mimics now give Lesser Mimics
- Golden Young Hercules now correctly triples his stats with Boon of Set (he only doubled before)
Until next time
