Patch Notes: September 29th, 2025

Summer is officially behind us! As we officially begin to shift towards hoodie weather, the Galaxy team has cooked up one banger of a patch, including a new Galaxy Pass captain, massive Shared Pool shakeup in preparation for Candylar later this month and a whole lot more! Let’s get into it…

New Galaxy Pass

Premium Galaxy Pass

A gargled echo spans through the cosmos, “We are Blorg. Be you toy, dragon, animal or pirate, all will be us.”

Answer their call and commence assimilation, this time on the October Premium Galaxy Pass!

When you recruit a character, your Toys gain that character's types.

Captain

We’ve all got that Candylar craving! Come satisfy that Sweet Tooth with a bonus premium Galaxy Pass captain. Get the October Premium Galaxy Pass and unlock Sweet Tooth immediately when Candylar launches in late October!

When you level up, get a bonus Candy spell.

Captain

It may be futile but join the resistance today. We assure you that assimilation with us comes with casual Friday and an hour lunch break! Unlock Resistance is Futile We Are Blorg alt art at level 50 of the October Premium Galaxy Pass!

Free Galaxy Pass

The fall moon rises, as does the Boy who Cried Werewolf to the Free Galaxy Pass! Maybe this time they’ll listen when the werewolf is howling!

After you recruit 3 Animals, double the attack and health of the next character you recruit. It becomes an Animal.

Captain

Listen to her song coaxing you to pick the left most character! It’ll never be the wrong decision with this Sunken Siren Merrily alt art at level 40 of the Free October Galaxy Pass!

Shared Pool Shakeup

In preparation for the release of Candylar, there are many changes coming to the shared pool of characters, treasures and spells. Let’s take a look at the fun new cards joining us:

Character Additions

See cards

Treasure Hoard 1 (+1/+1 for each treasure you have)
Quest — I attack 3 times.

Common Dragon

Recruit — Give your first slot +2/+1.

Common Animal

When I'm attacked, give me +1 Health.

Common Toy

Quest — Recruit a Pirate.

Uncommon Toy

Recruit — Give your characters +1/+1.

Uncommon Fae

Quest — Transform a character.

Uncommon Hero

When you play a spell directly on a character, give its slot +2/+2.

Uncommon Mage Villain

When I survive damage, transform me into a random Rare character

Uncommon Animal

Treasure Hoard 1
The first tiem I survive damage each fight, get a random common treasure.

Rare Dragon

Hunt — Give my neighbors +5/+5.

Rare Fae Pirate

Recruit — Improve the buffs on the next treasure you find by +1/+1.

Farewell — The next character you recruit has +4/+4.

Buff the smallest characters in each shop to match the strongest.

Get an additional copy of the next 3 treasures you discover.

The first five times you recruit a Mage each turn, cast a random spell.

Each fight, give your characters +3/+3 for each shop you had last turn.

Each fight, each of your character's Attack and Health become the higher of the two.

These cards have put in a lot of work during our Base Set and while they are departing the Shared Pool now, that does not mean they won’t return in the future. For now, fire the cannons and thank them for their service.

Card changes

We are making this change to Princess Animall proactively because we wanted her to be able to make Animals into Candy with the release of Candylar and allowing Bronze animals to be Candy by default did not achieve an interesting balance that we strive for Galaxy.

Bug Fixes and Quality of Life changes

• Questers no longer trigger when banked (e.g. Maverick and Icewing was triggering when you banked it but had Dragon Dice)
• Associated cards are now shown on zoom. (like Dragon Claw, Jack, Andy, etc.) This feature is a work in progress and will only show base stats for things that get buffs (like Jack) or dynamically added cards (like the treasure picked by Galahad). We will continue to improve this feature in future patches.
• Tighten MMR range for matchmaking (we hope this change helps make for more balanced matchmaking and is something we will continue to monitor and improve).

Starter Deck Acquisition change

• Purchased captains will now come with both their Starter deck PLUS a bonus Theme deck.
• Free Captains will come with their full 12 card Starter deck

This will apply retroactively for Hannibal and in the late October patch we will have it apply to all old Base Set captains.
