Candy - A Sweet Mechanic
Candy is the namesake mechanic from Candylar: The Sweet Set, and we’re quite excited to share with you how it will work!
Newly appearing in Candylar, you’ll see a whole array of Candy spells. They may begin a bit underwhelming, but as you sweeten them they’ll grow to galactic proportions.

A couple of nice straightforward spells right? But what does that Sweeten bit at the end mean?
Sweeten - Increase the buffs on all of your Candy cards by +1/+1.
So the first Gum Drop you cast will give a simple +1/+1 buff, then the next one will give +2/+2, and things will just scale up from there. That might sound slow as molasses to get going, but let's take a look at some of the payoffs you can get.
Once you’ve sweetened your Candy up to 8 or 9, you can get some really big bonuses out of a card like Star Burst. It’s not too hard to be getting +10/+10 for your entire team! But also note I said that it increases the buff from all of your Candy CARDS, not just spells! Let's take a look at a Candy character who will also benefit from sweetening up.
Lemonhead is an innocuous looking character who can get out of hand pretty quickly the more you’ve sweetened your candy. It is buffed up by your sweetness, so if you’ve sweetened your candy 4 times, it’ll be getting +5/+5 every turn! That’s sure to make your opponent pucker. Now let's look at a higher rarity Candy character with another new mechanic from Candylar, Supersweet.
Each fight, give my slot +3/+3.
Cheep here has Supersweet 3, which means that it gets 3 times the bonus from your sweetness. If you’ve sweetened your Candy 9 times, it’ll buff its slot by +30/+30 every single turn! Mama Bear’s got nothing on this sweet treat!
Of course, there are a few ways to sweeten your Candy outside of casting Candy spells. Here’s a look at Candy Cane Crook, who sweetens your Candy by Hunting. Buff him up with your powered-up Candy spells to keep him going!
